Eckleburg are blue and gigantic—their retinas are one yard high. They look out of no face but, instead, from a pair of enormous yellow spectacles which pass over a nonexistent nose.
This quote is one of the first things I often think of when The Great Gatsby comes to mind. Dr. Eckleburg’s eyes keenly observe the many crossings in this novel and transgressions in this novel. From Tom’s philandering to Gatsby’s pining, the eyes see all and I thought that’s where I wanted to start for a cover!
